The first time I came to Hanoi in late spring, the weather was warm, sometimes with a light drizzle, making every street fresh and clean. I loved walking around Hoan Kiem Lake, looking at the trees and the blooming flowers on the small streets, feeling like every street corner was a vivid picture.

This is also the time when there is less rain than in the summer, suitable for walking around West Lake, exploring small alleys in the Old Quarter and taking pictures of ancient architecture. I often enjoy traditional dishes such as pho, vermicelli, hot rolls and street food at Dong Xuan market, which are both delicious and affordable.
Late summer gives me the feeling that Hanoi has slowed down, no longer hot like in the summer but still bustling enough to explore.

Autumn is the time when I find Hanoi most beautiful. The weather is mild and sunny, the wind is cool and the scent of milk flowers wafts through the streets. I spent the morning walking around Hoan Kiem Lake, watching the yellow leaves fall, enjoying Vong village green rice and the fragrant ripe dracontomelon.
I also visited famous places such as the Temple of Literature, Quang Ba Market, or West Lake flower valley to take pictures. The winter air is quieter, making me feel that Hanoi has become quiet and profound, different from the usual hustle and bustle. This is also a great time to walk around West Lake, enjoy grilled food on the sidewalk and fully feel the slow pace of life in the capital.
#6. Christmas – New Year (December – January)
I experienced Christmas in Hanoi and was completely captivated by the vibrant festive atmosphere. It was cold but walking around the Cathedral, Hang Ma Street shopping malls, I got to see the sparkling decorations and take countless beautiful photos.
I enjoyed hot coffee, winter dishes, and participated in street events, feeling the festive atmosphere filling the streets. Although the cost of food and transportation was higher than usual, the experience of living during the festive season made the trip special and unforgettable.
#7. Lunar New Year (January – February of the lunar calendar)
Tet Nguyen Dan in Hanoi gives me a feeling of both peace and excitement. I visitedQuang Ba flower market, Hang Luoc street, participated in New Year festivals and enjoy traditional dishes such as banh chung, Tet jam, nem ran. The weather is cold but pleasant, making walking around the streets more interesting.
The spring atmosphere, peach blossoms and traditional cultural activities make me feel the spirit of Tet in Hanoi. This is the occasion I quite explore culture, enjoy delicious cuisine and create unforgettable memories.
