Discover the top things to do in Da Nang on a rainy day, from exploring museums, indoor markets to enjoying local cuisine, making your trip fun and memorable.
The rainy day in Da Nang initially made me hesitate, but in fact it was a great opportunity to explore indoor experiences. I visited museums, sipped warm coffee and visited shopping centers, still enjoying the trip to the fullest. The rain was no longer an obstacle, but turned every moment into a memorable experience.
Top 07 things to do when it rains in Da Nang
On a rainy day in Da Nang, I still want to enjoy all the interesting experiences of the city. Below are top 07 things to do when it rains, from visiting museums, shopping, enjoying cuisine to indoor entertainment, helping me fully explore Da Nang without worrying about the weather.
#1. Visit museums and indoor relics
One rainy morning, I took a taxi from the city center to the Cham Museum, which only took about 10 minutes to travel. The entrance fee for adults is 60,000 VND/person/time, and for students it is only 10,000 VND/person/time (card required). As soon as I entered, I was captivated by the Champa stone statues and the exquisite sculptures, feeling like I was lost in a living historical space.

Then I walked or took a Grab for about 5 minutes to Da Nang Museum. The spacious space, rich in artifacts about local history and culture, allowed me to learn while avoiding the pouring rain outside.
Finally, I visited the Chicken Church, a classic French architecture, just 5 minutes by taxi from the museum. I spent nearly half an hour taking pictures and watching the street through the skylight window, the feeling of rain falling outside while still warm inside was interesting and pleasant.
#2. Visit shopping malls
In Da Nang there are many big shopping malls like Vincom, Lotte or Indochina Riverside Mall, but I decided to choose only Vincom Plaza Da Nang for this rainy day trip. The reason is this center integrates everything in the same space: shopping, dining, entertainment and a cinema, so you don’t have to move much, very convenient when it rains.

What impressed me was the modern, clean space, friendly service, but still retains Vietnamese features with local food stalls, unlike foreign shopping malls that only focus on international brands. Here, I enjoy Quang noodles and fish noodle soup at the food court, then sip coffee in a cafe with a view of the central lobby, one of my favorite things to do in Da Nang on a rainy day.
While walking around, I also bought some souvenirs and small trinkets for my friends. Branded items like Zara, Adidas, or Nike are priced at equivalent to foreign centers, but still easy to find and convenient to try on clothes right at the store. Overall, Vincom Plaza meets the needs of dining, entertainment and shopping without worrying about rain or wind, making me feel comfortable and enjoy a complete afternoon in Da Nang.
#3. Food and coffee experiences
A rainy day without stopping by a coffee shop is a pity, because I want to find a place that is both warm and has a virtual living space. I stopped at Wonderlust Coffee & Souvenir (96 Tran Phu, Hai Chau 1, Da Nang). The shop is famous for its signature dishes such as cappuccino latte art, pearl milk tea, tiramisu and cheesecake, but I chose cappuccino and tiramisu.

The cappuccino was steaming, the coffee aroma was strong, the milk foam was smooth, and the tiramisu was soft, sweet, and melted in my mouth. Sitting by the glass door, watching the rain fall on Tran Phu Street, I felt so relaxed and comfortable, avoiding the rain and taking natural virtual photos.
Each dish costs about 50,000–70,000 VND, and for anyone following a travel Vietnam guide, I thought it was definitely worth the experience.
#4. Indoor entertainment
I suggest a great activity to enjoy a rainy day in Da Nang: try an escape room at Escape In Time (377 Ngo Quyen, Son Tra, Da Nang). The center is open from 09:00 – 22:00, with many themed rooms such as “Blood Dragon”, “Room 1704” or “SawCantation”. Each room is elaborately decorated, suitable for groups of friends or families.

The game requires solving puzzles, finding clues and coordinating with the team to escape within the specified time, creating a feeling of suspense but extremely fun. Entrance tickets depend on the room and difficulty; the price is reasonable compared to the experience.
After trying the escape room, if you have time, you can visit Vincom Mega Fun, Helio Center or the cinema in the shopping mall for a change of atmosphere. These activities will make a rainy day more exciting, interesting and memorable.
#5. Relax and take care of your health
That evening, I spent time relaxing at the spa of Novotel Danang Premier Han River Hotel, located right in the city center with a luxurious and quiet space, definitely one of the best things to do in Da Nang on a rainy day.
I chose the 120-minute Body Bliss package between 1 pm – 5 pm with a preferential price of only 1,000,000 VND net/person, combining full body massage, essential oils and relaxing sauna. Sitting in the spa room, watching the rain fall outside the window, I felt my body and mind completely released, all fatigue disappeared.

In addition, the hotel also has a yoga room and a modern gym. I took the opportunity to do some gentle exercises to release energy, both exercising and relaxing. Rainy days seem boring, but with this spa experience, I felt absolute peace and comfort, turning a rainy evening into an unforgettable moment of relaxation.
#6. Experience culture and art indoors
With rainy days, outdoor activities are hindered, so you can choose like me to join a cooking class at Jolie Da Nang Cooking Class (14 An Trung Dong 6, An Hai Bac, Son Tra). From the city center, I take a taxi about 10–15 minutes to get to the class, both avoiding the rain and convenient for traveling. For those seeking more adventurous options when the weather clears, activities like paragliding Da Nang can add excitement to your trip.

Ticket prices for a 2.5-hour session are around VND700,000/person (about AUD$30), while longer sessions of 4-5 hours range from VND850,000-950,000/person, including ingredients and live instruction from a local chef.
In the class, I learned how to make Quang noodles and banh xeo, practiced right on the spot and finally enjoyed the dishes I made with my own hands. The indoor space was airy, fully equipped, learning, playing, and experiencing culinary culture at the same time, making the rainy day interesting, memorable and complete.
#7. Combine sightseeing near a window or under a canopy
On a rainy day in Da Nang, I walked along the Dragon Bridge and Han River Bridge under the canopy, feeling the chilly air of the light rain and watching the sparkling Han River reflecting the city lights, one of the most enjoyable things to do in Da Nang when raining. The feeling of leisure and relaxation made me realize that a rainy day is just as interesting as a sunny day.

Next, I visited Con Market, a private, airy indoor space, ideal for rainy days. I walked between the stalls, looked at all kinds of handicrafts, souvenirs and enjoyed local dishes. I tried banh beo, cha ca, nem lui for about 30,000-50,000 VND/portion, and decided to try the famous avocado ice cream at Co Thu shop.
The avocado ice cream was smooth and cool, but the experience was not too smooth. When I bought it, I felt the cold attitude of the staff, which made the enjoyment of the food a bit less. However, I still bought some small gifts as souvenirs while walking around, observing and experiencing the bustling atmosphere of the market.
Rainy days seem inconvenient, but with the experience of walking to see the bridge, visiting the market, enjoying food and shopping, I still feel like exploring, having fun and fully enjoying every moment in Da Nang.
